Palm-Oil-Free Baby Formula 2026: Every Option Compared

By: The Milky Box Team - Updated October 2026 - 7 Minute Read

“Is there a baby formula without palm oil?” is one of the questions we hear most. Yes, and you have more choice than you might think: whole-milk cow’s formulas, goat’s milk formulas and a plant-based formula. Here’s every palm-oil-free formula we stock, and how they compare.

Quick answer: these formulas list no palm oil:

  • Cow’s milk: Kendamil Bio Nature (organic), Kendamil Premium and Kendamil Comfort.
  • Goat’s milk: Jovie Goat, Holle Goat, Holle Goat Dutch, Kendamil Goat and NANNYcare.
  • Plant-based: Sprout Organic.

Why some parents avoid palm oil

Palm oil is allowed in infant formula in the EU and US. It supplies palmitic acid, the main saturated fat in breast milk. Some studies have linked palm olein in formula to slightly lower calcium absorption and firmer stools, and many families also have environmental concerns. Neither makes palm oil unsafe, but they’re common reasons parents look for an alternative.

Palm-oil-free formulas get their saturated fat in other ways: whole-milk formulas (like Kendamil and the goat formulas) use the natural fat of milk, and some add coconut oil.
