Plant-Based Kids Nutrition, Voted Best Children's Product at the World Food Innovation Awards.

Sprout Organic is Australia's pioneering plant-based children's nutrition brand — and the company behind the world's first certified organic vegan infant formula. Founded by Sel and Jen, two Australian parents who saw a gap the entire global infant nutrition industry had overlooked, Sprout was built from the ground up to prove that babies could thrive on plants alone.

From day one, Sprout's mission has been to reimagine children's nutrition. By choosing only organic, plant-based ingredients and eliminating dairy, soy, and animal-derived components entirely, Sprout delivers clean, wholesome nutrition for little ones — without shortcuts, without compromise.

Certified to the Highest Standards
Sprout Organic holds Australian Certified Organic (ACO) certification — independently verified, not self-declared. Every ingredient is grown without synthetic pesticides, fertilizers, or GMOs, in compliance with strict Australian organic standards. Sprout is also certified vegan by Vegan Australia, ensuring no animal ingredients or by-products are present at any stage of production.

Sustainability at the Core
Sprout is Carbon Neutral Certified through the Australian Government's Climate Active program, actively offsetting emissions across its operations. All tins, lids, and scoops are fully recyclable and BPA-free. For Sprout, protecting the planet is inseparable from protecting the children who will inherit it.

Developed with Experts
Sprout formulas are developed in collaboration with Australian pediatricians, accredited dietitians, midwives, and food scientists. Every product meets the strict nutritional requirements of Food Standards Australia New Zealand (FSANZ) and undergoes extensive safety testing before reaching families.

A Global First, Globally Recognized
When Sprout launched in June 2021, it disrupted an infant nutrition industry that had remained essentially unchanged for over 120 years. In 2022, that disruption earned global recognition — Sprout was voted Best Children's Product at the World Food Innovation Awards, setting a new benchmark for what plant-based infant nutrition could be.

The World's First Certified Organic Vegan Infant Formula.

Sprout Organic (0–12 Months) by Berdie Organic is a complete, plant-based infant formula designed to nourish babies from birth through their first year. It's the only infant formula in the world that is simultaneously certified organic, certified vegan, dairy-free, and soy-free — giving families a genuinely clean alternative to conventional formula without compromising on nutritional completeness.

At the heart of Sprout is a pea and rice protein blend — fermented and sprouted for optimal digestibility — delivering a complete amino acid profile comparable to dairy-based formulas. Rather than fish oil, Sprout uses algal DHA, a plant-sourced omega-3 fatty acid that supports healthy brain and eye development from day one. Probiotics help establish and maintain a healthy gut microbiome during those critical early months.

Every ingredient is grown without synthetic pesticides, fertilizers, or GMOs, and the formula contains no corn syrup, no palm oil, no artificial flavors, colors, or preservatives. Sprout is certified organic to Australian standards (Cert. No. SXC 25155), certified vegan by Vegan Australia, carbon neutral via the Australian Government's Climate Active program, and halal certified.

Sprout was developed in close collaboration with Australian pediatricians, accredited dietitians, and food scientists, and meets the strict nutritional requirements of Food Standards Australia New Zealand (FSANZ). When it launched in June 2021, it became the first formula of its kind on the planet — and in 2022 it was voted Best Children's Product at the World Food Innovation Awards.

For families exploring plant-based feeding, Sprout also offers a Sprout Organic Toddler Drink for 12+ months, providing continuity of plant-based nutrition as your little one grows. You can explore the full range at The Milky Box Sprout Organic collection.
